ATTACHMENT & FELLOWSHIP

  • Provide exposure for the students to get hands-on/ real-life experience they are expected to work in after their graduation.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to apply the principles and technique theoretically learnt into real-life problem solving situations.
  • Provide an opportunity for students and academic staff to interact with the stakeholders and potential employers that will assist the Higher Learning Institutions for curricula review and improvement.
  • Develop student understanding of work ethics, employment demands, responsibilities and opportunities.

CLINICAL/ELECTIVE POSTINGS APPLICATION CRITERIA

Local Students

  • Application at least 3 months before commencement date.
  • Strong Academic Performance – minimum second class upper or equivalent. Minimum CGPA 3.50.
  • The duration of the attachment must not be less than two (2) weeks and not more than (4) weeks. Maximum (2) departments at a time.
  • Applicants whose applications have been approved will receive an email within 4 weeks of submitting their application.
  • First-come first-served basis (quota of 4 students per department per month).
  • Accommodation is not provided.
  • Monthly allowances are not provided.

International Students

  • Application at least 6 months before commencement date.
  • Student at least in 3rd years and above.
  • Strong Academic Performance minimum second class upper or equivalent. Minimum CGPA 3.50.
  • The duration of the attachment must not be less than two (2) weeks and not more than (4) weeks. Maximum (2) departments at a time.
  • Applicants whose applications have been approved will receive an email within 4 weeks of submitting their application.
  • First-come first-served basis (quota of 4 students per department per month).
  • Accommodation is not provided and student(s) are responsible for obtaining their own visa.
  • Monthly allowances are not provided.

Clinical Attachments (Doctors)

  • Application at least 2 months before commencement date.
  • The duration of the clinical attachment minimum of (1) month.
  • Applicants whose applications have been approved will receive an email within 4 weeks of submitting their application.
  • Documents to be submitted along with the application :
    a. Cover Letter from the University/Hospital
    b. Application form
    c. Resume

INTERNSHIP APPLICATION CRITERIA

Local Students

  • Application at least 3 months before commencement date.
  • Strong Academic Performance – minimum second class upper or equivalent. Minimum CGPA 3.50.
  • The duration of the internship is maximum 6 months.
  • Applicants whose applications have been approved will receive an email within 4 weeks of submitting their applications.
  • First-come first-served basis (quota 3 students per department in one month).
  • Accommodation is not provided.
  • Monthly allowances are provided for selected department(s).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Students/ Trainees are not allowed to apply for leave without prior approval from the College/ University/ Hospital.
  • Students/ Trainees are expected to adhere to all IJN’s rules and regulations all the times.
  • All students and trainees are required to report directly to the Human Capital & Organizational Development Division (HCOD) on their first day of training for registration purpose.
  • Students ID tags will be issued for identification and safety measure. They must wear the ID tags all the times while in IJN premises.
  • For students applications:
    1. We are unable to process the incomplete application form.
    2. Supporting documents to be submitted with the application form include a cover letter from the University and an academic transcript.
    3. Applicants whose applications have been approved will receive an email within 4 weeks of submitting their application.
